What to call a Loch?
well, if in doubt and/or everyone else seems to have taken all the good names then I guess you’re left with what I walked up today … the Loch’s name ? Why, Loch Lochy of course… I guess McLoch and Lochy McLoch face have already been taken, looks quite nice though.
So the big news of the day is the MASH update. The breaking (blisters ? bad?) situation was that Becca went for Option 2b(i) which if you haven’t got the decision tree app meant that I stumbled off solo and she got to know various sales reps in various stores before ditching the boots for some shoes (well, that’s wimmin for you, any excuse) and then taking a bus (with a driver who decided to turf her out in the middle of nowhere cos he forgot to stop in the right place) to meet me for some miles to see how said shoes bore up.
so far so good but watch this space for further news
meanwhile my day up said Loch was pleasant enough : towpaths and forest cycle tracks make for good walking and looks a-Lordy it seems that SADS could end up being SAWS. Fort Bill acts as a terminus for both the WHW and the Great Glen Way although I discovered that the cosmopolitan crowds of the WHW desert the serene solitude of the GGW, which was fine by me. I had thought that walking north-east I’d get some sou’westerly help but no such luck.. however the breeze was welcome under the cloudless skies… although I’m sure that any farmer’s tan I get will be strongly and comically delineated.
We have various ‘fall back’ options for Becca if needed but fingers crossed it’ll be a gentle stroll up the great glen tomorrow.
27 miles (again!) today … dur, a combination of reasons … hopefully tomorrow’s will be shortened …
stroll on ?

Hard yards indeed when you have to walk back to where the bus should have dropped you. I hope that the shoes have alleviated the blister problem, despite the bus driver.
Alleviation achieved … see today’s soon to be written blog for details … as for local bus drivers … ?
