Coasting on…
It’s a logic that works for me; there’s no way you’re not going to finish the last day even if you have to crawl so therefore the penultimate day is effectively the last. That way you get Double Euphoria right?
Reasonable start to the day and this turned out to be Objective 1
I know for some it’s the smell of napalm in the morning but for your humble scribe there’s something about Coast Path walking. So give me the smell of kelp and the shriek of a seagull, it’s a shore thing.
It was a day of largely walking in a straight line up and along ridges
As you can probably tell the weather was mixed, although no heavy downpours I am definitely a fan of the Kerry Way as it does feel like proper walking. Would be good to do it one summer’s day. Oops, realised where I am, would be good to do it the summer’s day (whatever day that is this year).
Still got some great views back across to Dingle
And then my heart soared when I realised that with this shot
That the bumpy bit in the background is unattached and is Valencia Island. The far side of said island is Bray Head, or The Ultimate Destination. The end is (getting) in sight.
As ever mixed bittersweet feelings about going into the last day, but the Guinness is helping with perspective. My hostelry for the night seems friendly enough although it’d take a lot to beat Glenbeigh last night. Jason the barman was a star and a keen walker. We started discussing doing The Camino … then he said he wanted to do it barefoot ! Respect, I am not worthy.
To avoid the main road in the finishing stretch the route kindly went through a few miles of wet boggy marsh …
Stroll ?on

Boggy Marsh………..I remember him well……..always a good laugh on the TW show……best of luck with the last days crawl!
Cheers Adrian, Boggy Marsh was Swampy’s alter ego
Good luck for the last day – we’ve enjoyed it all from the comforts of Mallorca
Cheers mate, as ever your support has been hugely appreciated. No, don’t get up, you’re fine …
