Turn it over …

Of course today was the day for waterproofs… a miserable filthy day where if you’re not careful you fund yourself thinking “nothing but mist and fog and cloud and wind and rain … could just take a selfie here, who would know??”

Ah, that cursed Strava. Here’s a pic of what was in store for the final push

The Ultimate Objective was to get past the first bump that you can clearly see, then the second which is partly clouded and then the third which is lost in the mists.

Valencia Island does actually have a very interesting history with first transatlantic cable, slate mining, flora and fauna…

But stride on one must and at about 1:25 p.m, this pic was recorded of the westernmost person in Europe

I would have preferred not to exercise my selfie skills (had forgotten to pack my stick) but here’s the queue of people waiting to join me and who could have helped

So, the IC2C? Turn it over cos It Is Done. A Thing Of Variable Beauty. A Thing Of the Past.

Technophile that I am some sundry stats:

Miles – 371 (18.5 / day)

Ascent – 40,036 feet (2,002 / day)

Steps – 770,000 (38,500 / day)

Hikers met over last 16 days/300 miles – 0

Vitamin G Supplements (“it’s good for you”. “It gives you strength”) – ca. 130 (and counting)

Talking Of which …

Stroll ?on … another day

p.s. For those of you interested I’ll probably do a final blog tomorrow with various photos that I think would be of interest
