Take it to the edge…

.. that’d be Wenlock Edge that be. On paper/digital screen a delightful walk along an escarpment with little undulation and clear route-finding. And the day started with just the right amount of cloud cover and temperature.

however, the route is used by both horse-riders and pedestrians so tends to be either churned up or by way of compromise laid with hardcore. I may (not) be a Hard Core Walker but being a hardcore walker is tough on the feet. Regrettably the views are minimal because of those tree things although the occasional glimpse is very rewarding

 

The Wrekin looks a fine hill to climb, some other day.

The day’s walk was also characterised by lots of quarries – you may like them but I’ve never really dug them.

the route also went through Much Wenlock which would be of interest to Olympic historians (and historic Olympians?) – consult the Book Of Wiki if unaware

So here we are just east of Ironbridge. We are very glad and lucky to have been joined by two very good  friends, Dee and Jenny, who as well as providing excellent company and support have also filled a trailer full of essentials and nice-to-haves. You can all decide where gherkins fit ….
