Picture the scene if you will…
.. A near deserted beach, golden sands and wide expanses glistening in early morning sun
Two young lovers cavorting, doing that ‘heart with initials and Cupid’s arrow’ thing… Barely clad, gaily kicking sand … Recreating that Deborah Kerr and Burt Reynolds moment from From Here To Eternity (surely a tagline for LEJOG?!)….
Now scratch that image and picture a prematurely elderly bloke bowed under the weight off his rucksack, muttering to himself about bleedin’ sand getting bleedin’ boots, sweating profusely and ignoring any romanticism and hey! that’s me on Perranporth beach.
But worry ye not Dear Reader for ’twas another glorious day on the coast (with the unavoidable distraction of Newquay) with the Return Of the Yellow Orb in the Sky. The day even started in a very auspicious way (steady!) with the morning podcast mentioning yours unruly and playing a special song (these moments between man and woman are truly the mortar in the relationship’s foundation, surely). In case you’re wondering whether it was Radio 1 or 2 it was, er, the Prog Show (yes, the one with Phil Wilding) and you’ve probably guessed that the ditty was Cinema Show by Genesis (of course the live version off of Seconds Out, patch)
Still making good time, 32000 of the blighted today … Stroll on

Prewitt and Magio !?!?

I forgot to add today’s little morale boosting masterpiece. But there again if you are listening to some LSD inspired prog rock you are probably enjoying a 15 minute flute solo about now so won’t have time to listen.
That Phil Collins really feeds the soul! Keep on Truckin my friends, just like the doo da man!
If my watch me Strada are correct you should be arriving in Wadebridge tonight. Fab cocktails in the small hotel I stayed in when there. Also once the home of Sir John Betjamin.
To honour the great man I will wax lyrical:
Two nice people laying in bed
Decided to go to Dunnet Head*
” Are you driving or biking?”
” No, we’re fecking hiking,
now piss off and leave us alone”. Sorry Sir John.
*For thems wot don’t know Dunnet Head is the peninsula above John O Groats
