A right heel
So the good news is that Becca’s decision to swap boots for shoes seems to be vindicated. Blisters have either stabilised or are diminishing. Fingers crossed as the boots have been shipped back courtesy of a local rural post office whose motto appeared to be “we can’t do enough for you … so we won’t bother trying”. Love that Scottish focus on customer service.
the views continue to make up for it
We will shortly be saying goodbye to the lochs and canals. The Great Glen was used for sea-faring vessels and consequently the locks are on the large size: a minimum of 170 feet by 40. And there are some neat craft out
The other update on boots is not so good. The inserts/insoles in mine are beginning to wear out (too many full Scottish breakfasts) and the right one at the back under the heel has the securing nail coming through. None of the destinations have had any type of replacement so increasingly bizarre solutions are being tried out. The spirit of Heath Robinson lives on…. as you might be able to imagine this is a problem that needs sorting.
we continue to come across quirky little things, e.g. a bunch of school kids had constructed a Trolls Bridge… and there was a wooden View Framer like some Kodak ‘take your picture here’ thing
We’ve found ourselves in the quaintly named Drumnadrochit….. 16 miles today
stroll on ?
