The path less travelled
All good clean fun in Inistioge last night. The 3rd generation owner was a fellow Gooner, one of the locals was a Sp*rs fan and instead of having to travel to eat and maybe watch the game I was able to stay put and do both. Kept up my Irish record of the boys winning with a clean sheet and all was nigh perfect until at a late hour an influx of Americans. From Florida. More accurately AMERICANS FROM FLORIDA. They seemed to be enjoying their pints of Smith-Wick and asked about the ‘soccah’ that they were standing in front of…Apparently Ireland is quaint.
Rather than engage in a debate on the merits of Trumpism i slunk away although I was treated somewhat later to “BUT I NEED WATER FOR MY MEDS” and “DWAYNE, SHHH, YOU GOTTA SHHHH”. Morpheus Morpheus o! where art thou Morpheus.
For the land allegedly of little green men it’s been a little yellow man as a constant companion
Kudos to The Powers That Be as the trails have been very well marked This little man has not only been constant but also sole as there has not been a single other hiker. For 4 days. The locals tell me that other locals are just not aware of the trails, despite the big info boards.
The weather here hasn’t been as hot as back in England I hear which is fine by me. Today was sunny through high cloud, softer than normal underfoot and various aches and pains seem to be abating. Although as I type I know such comments can come back and bite you … or kick you in the, er, shin… still, a very good Friday.
And still some cracking panoramas
Milestone: now into 5th County (Kilkenny)
