Walk it? I Road it…
The only way to get from the end of the Blackwater Way (today) to the start of the Kerry Way (tomorrow) is the road non-option… what can you do?
To keep you abreast of local lumps and bumps these are for some reason called The Paps
One one of the better starts to a day….
Otherwise it was pretty much a case of plodding along minor roads with tantalising glimpses of what is to come tomorrow and after ….. on the plus side it was a very efficient west and west route … the splendidly named MacGilliguddy’s Reeks are now in view which is where I’m heading…. walking into the Black Valley and through what is officially called The Wilderness to stay in a climbers’ hut… frankly a welcome change… here are the Reeks
I’ve high hopes of the Kerry Way and the scenery so here’s hoping the weather continues to improve.
Medical bulletin: the (left) big toe I badly stubbed Day 1 (schoolboy error) is just about keeping its nail attached and I’d say 50-50 whether it stays behind as a relic or returns with me (pics are available), toe-strapping operation on right toes appears successful and shin is only mildly and occasionally saying “Er, excuse me” as opposed to previous raging screaming unignorable blasphemous lengthy sentences of abuse
Nice to see this although the reference to plural after 12 days remains redundant
MOTD1: over 300 miles
MOTD2 : Blackwater Way over
MOTD3: into 8th (and final) County, Kerry
Stroll ?on

Looking great and some superb views
Cheers mate, the views should get even better .. getting ready for your Thames path beasting ?
”High hopes” ……you continue with your prog rock references all the way! Somehow dont think Thames path will give you anything like this……..apart from the odd lock here and there its dead flat. And probably no damaged toes
It’s sounding better and better … another good day , getting close to the edge ?
Hey pauly, been following your blogs n route. Looking good. Andy.
… and at times it feels good too ! ? cheers mate
