An unwelcome ear worm
despite my self-imposed grounding things looked up as they had a sports bar (Guinness! rugby! football! golf!) and a special on in the restaurant ( Montepulciano! Ribs!! Lamb shank!!! Banoffee pie!!!!) so it was a leisurely start today… had to work through breakfast first
Suitably fortified time to hit the trail …. it might just be me but there are times when with some canny sixth sense you have s feeling that either a) you’ve gone the wrong way; or b) the sun (and mountain) are in the wrong places …. well, obvs… however after several tens of minutes and also miles it dawned on me that the other answer could be the correct one. For Strava lovers (see the Wanderings tab) there is incontrovertible evidence of my foray around alternative sides of mountains and hills …
Which regrettably gave rise (ha!) to me bizarrely remembering some Donnie and Marie number which I couldn’t shake (not just Prog, me).
No sun and very blustery; so blustery that I saw a hen trying to lay an egg four times…
There were some occasional nice views
It seems the locals love the name of Ballinafunshoge so much too that they’ve two mountains named it (although that could also be a function of my navigational ability). In beautiful valley today which is a pain as tomorrow’s 23 miler will start with a bit (lot) of uphill
stroll on ?
