Idle Thoughts
Today’s a rest day. Rest from hard roads and hard trails. Padding around a Very Nice BnB in socks, getting laundry done, reading a newspaper … sweet little luxuries.
And as you do various thoughts come to mind inspired by 12 days and 240 miles …
Guinness appears to be an anti-diuretic, who knew?
When faced with a long uphill slog the weight loss benefits of using extra toothpaste just beforehand are negligible
These fancy new shirts with wicking quality, this appears to mean that only other people can smell your particular ‘musk’ (for ca. 4 days)
The Rule Of Two: When you eg badly stub your toe you will be so annoyed at yourself for being so stupid you won’t be concentrating so you’ll do it again straight afterwards
Benches are rarely there when you want them … and never when you need them
One of the glorious outdoor sights is when you can clearly see that the ridge line horizon will very shortly meet the path your own: the end is nigh
Yapping free ranging dogs are a real pain
Guinness + walking = weight loss. Brilliant !
Rubbish is regrettably universal
Hard road walking is hard walking
Over here even small streams can have very quaint looking nanes
Now I’m on the Blackwater Way (pic at top) it’s split into two parts: Avondhu and Duhallow. But I’m guessing Avondhu is local for Water Black so what is Duhallow? Anyway hey ho let’s go .. and that’s from a Ramoner (not sure of my demographic when trying to pun topical politics with ‘70s classic NY punk).
More relevantly now mixing my drinks
Back heading west again tomorrow … hopefully after another cracking brekkie of porridge followed by trout … and no rain.. especially no rain
?

The big question is whether Murphy’s too is anti-diuretic?
Hope that it wasn’t just socks?
No, of course not… no really.., yeah, loads of other stuff…you know…
Or to make the question even bigger … Beamish? Not sure yet but like Murphy’s I won’t be bitter
