No Wye-fi : here’s the delayed transmission

Today was a day for words like ‘vista’ and ‘panorama’. You could justifiably put them in close conjunction in the same sentence and even use that over-used ‘awesome’. How green is your valley?

I know I should put this in whisper size font but there’s a small chance that we starting to begin to just about get the initial hang of this ‘one foot after another and repeat’ thing. I know that is tempting fate, providence and kismet and I suspect the skies will soon darken, plagues of locusts will descend and it’ll start raining frogs so I will say no more. Many a slip twixt step and stile as granny surely used to say.

To partially back up some of that Becca’s blisters seem to have stabilised, albeit at the abysmal stage but no deterioration in recent days which is a blessing. My cankle is improving, given that there is now some distinction between the calf and the ankle and the other day, o! what joy, I saw some tendons on the back of the foot I’m upgrading it to calankle.

We had all day in Wales, walking along the very well waymarked Offa’s Dyke Trail. After the monochrome Wetherspoons experience we’re now ensconced in Lllllllanthony Priory which is genuinely llllllovely.  It has 12th century character which means no en-suite, trip-hazard stairs, dodgy water supply and no wifi or phone signal …. For pleasure however Becca can whenever she wants look out the window and gaze at Lord Hereford’s Knob. Here it is:

The locals call it Twmpa – a surprisingly profligate use of vowels it seems to me in such a short word. Tomorrow will be a stroll along the valllllley for a while before a climb out of Hay.

It seems we have no wi-fi so there will be a double blog dose tomorrow I guess. Anyway, 51000 steps today …. stroll on.
